LV design was developed by Western Power specifically to help its engineers, network designers and operations staff quickly calculate the voltage drops, line currents, kilowatt losses and costs in both underground and overhead low voltage networks.
LV design has recently been updated to provide greater accuracy for users and help with the analysis of the existing network and with the planning of future developments.
The reason for changing to LV design version 5.9.3 is that in previous versions, LV Design calculates the total Current of Transformer by summing up all the maximum After Diversity Maximum Demand (ADMD) Current of each branch. In practice this may not be the case as it is highly unlikely that all branches will be drawing maximum ADMD Current at the same time.
